AI-Written Cover Letters: The Piece Most Applicants Skip

16 July 2026 4 min read

Most job seekers either skip the cover letter entirely or reuse the same one for every application, changing only the company name. Recruiters can tell within a sentence — and it costs you interviews.

Why cover letters still matter

A CV lists what you've done. A cover letter explains why it matters for this job, at this company. Many Finnish employers — especially at mid-size companies — still read cover letters closely, particularly when two candidates have similar CVs. A specific, well-written letter is often the tie-breaker.

How it works here

Once you've tailored a CV for a job, you'll see a "Generate Cover Letter" option in that job's version history. It writes a full letter — salutation, opening, body paragraphs, closing, sign-off — using your actual CV profile and the job's real description. It doesn't invent experience you don't have; it selects and frames what's already true about you around what the employer is asking for.

You can keep up to 3 letter versions per job, download any of them as a PDF, or open the edit view to adjust the wording yourself before sending.

Same templates as your CV

Cover letters come in the same 6 designs as your CV — Nordic, Minimal Grid, Editorial, Sidebar, Swiss, and Portfolio — so your CV and cover letter arrive at the recruiter's inbox as a matching, professional pair instead of two documents that look like they came from different tools.

What it won't do

It won't fabricate achievements, invent a language you don't speak, or claim experience missing from your CV profile. If your profile is thin, the letter will be honest rather than padded — which is also usually the more convincing choice.
